About Us
In 1985 the Morden Players staged their first production - 'On Monday Next' - and have been going strong ever since! The Players are a local group of amateurs from all walks of life with the simple aims of coming together to stage one or two theatrical productions per year, raise some money for charities and worthy causes, and have some fun doing so!
As well as doing our thing on stage, there is of course lots going on off it from writing, directing and producing to lighting and sound, props and costumes, prompts, publicity and front of house. And besides our stage productions there are other events throughout the year from play readings and workshops for our younger members, to purely social events such as the summer barbecue and Christmas party. We're also usually to be found supporting village events some way or other, like running the beer tent!
